Roberto Bates feat Malberg – I Just Died In Your Arms

“(I Just) Died in Your Arms” was released in 1986 as the debut single by English pop- rock band Cutting Crew and was the band’s biggest hit, reaching number one in the United States, Canada, Norway and Finland and the top five in Germany, Ireland, the UK, South Africa, Sweden and Switzerland.

For dance chart experienced DJ Roberto Bates, the 80s are not only the decade of mega hits, but this song was always something special, as it was during this time that he started his band BATES MOTEL, for whom he still writes the songs today. Roberto Bates was nominated for the German Songwriting Award in Berlin in the POP category for his work at the end of 2023.

In collaboration with the artist Marcel Huber alias “Malberg”, who became famous in Austria through the casting show “Die große Chance”, this modern mix was created, which shows great respect for the 80s. Now the hit is back on the dancefloors: “It was a long hot night!”

Right back in the saddle for 2024, Agency has a new album called THROWBACK inspired by producers from the 90s coming out… and the second single (after the exquisite BABYFACE inspired LOOK) is this hot hot hot tune inspired by PRINCE… and it’s got quite the pedigree. Lead vocalist Derran is actually the son of Morris Day of The Time aka Prince’s sidekick back in the day so you can see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree on this funky infectious tune. Seventh Stranger – Mindblown ’24

James Chris & Native Shores – Sympathy for the Devil

Talented producer James Chris, Native Shores and Joey Batts collaborate for the New York label Cufflink Records with this classic re-recording of “Sympathy For The Devil”. Originally written by Mick Jagger plus a tempo change, with additional percussion, by Keith Richards into a samba beat production, creating, what to these ears, possibly the first ever House record in its 117 bpm groove from Dec 1968. A mainstay tune for the legendary DJ Alfredo in Ibiza at Amnesia.

The lyrics focus on atrocities in mankind’s history from Satan’s point of view, including the trial and death of Jesus Christ, European wars of religion, the violence of the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the 1918 execution of the Romanov family during World War I, and World War II. The song was originally written with a line asking who shot Kennedy, but after Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination on 6 June 1968, the line was changed to reference both assassinations. There is real history to the song (info for your radio shows).
