Martial Simon – A Little Respect

Hype Chart
Top 100 Chart
Martial Simon has a knack for transforming all-time classics into jewels of the modern dancefloor, and it comes as no surprise that his latest interpolation of “A Little Respect” is quickly becoming an instant hit. Simon’s new age touch on “A Little Respect” introduces lighter pitch-perfect tenors in lieu of original vocalist Andy Bell’s iconic falsetto. This new rendition takes Erasure’s catchy lyrics and adds an electro house groove which turns this 80’s synth-pop anthem into an EDM main stage contender.

“The original was one of the very few pop songs that can be considered perfect, so why not reinvent them with a modern twist. This is a feel good interpolation that can rock a dance floor.”

  • Martial Simon

The NY-based veteran DJ is still riding the waves of his successful track “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” which has already amassed over 200K streams across all platforms, and received airplay support from stations like Dash Radio and Party 105.1 FM.

Since expanding his brand beyond his former moniker as DJ Martial, he continues to develop his own distinct sound combining his love of 80s new wave and synth pop with deep electro. His previously released funky nu-disco cover of “Let’s Hear It For The Boy” became an international summer anthem just in time for nightclubs to reopen.

The original single Come Back written by the band with acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Tania Doko (Bachelor Girl) is lucky number 13 on the album’s track listing and is a fan favourite for its memorable hooks and relaxed vibes. The track, which dropped last year as part of Sheppard’s now-famous “12 singles in 12 months” campaign, is a call to a former flame to remember the good times and come back to a once beautiful relationship. With the theme of Kaleidoscope Eyes being all about viewing life through the lens of love, Come Back reminds us that it’s not always smooth sailing.

Since its release (24 Apr 2020), the track is continually building its numbers and is currently sitting at 1.8 million streams across all platforms.

George from Sheppard said “MOTi is one of the world’s most in-demand DJs and we were thrilled he was able to collaborate with us on Come Back. He brings an entirely new energy to the track and I can’t wait to be out and hear this on a packed dancefloor.”

Where Do We Go is about having Dreams and Hope for the Future for everybody.

Gothenburg’s music Queen, Elsa Li Jones, returns with her brand new recording and song “Where Do We Go” across two mixes including the Original and the excellent Dream Remix which musically reminded me of “That’s The Way It Is” by Bruce Hornsby & The Range.

Lyrically the two songs have similar deep origins in their poignant lyrics. Indeed “Where Do We Go” from here is going to be a question we ask ourselves repeatedly in the months ahead. We need artists like Elsa to do as the legendary artists of the late 60’s did in their music – raise awareness with sweet melodies. Bravo Elsa Li Jones. Out on Spotify & Apple Music now.
